IMPORTANT INFORMATION (Please read):
Due to a significant landslip on the hillside overlooking the school, Calderdale Council Engineers, in consultation with the Environment Agency and West Yorkshire Police have taken the reluctant but necessary step of closing a section of Prospect Street at its junction with New Bank (A58). The closure will be from this junction up to, but not including, the vehicle entrance to St Joseph's RC Primary School. The closure is likely to be in effect for some considerable time.
The result of the closure is that there will be no vehicle access to Prospect Street from New Bank, nor from Prospect Street into Portland Road and vice versa. A diversion route will be in effect via Claremount Road to then access the school via Range Bank and Prospect Street or Portland Road.
Pedestrian access will not be effected.
Parents and others requiring vehicle access to the school are requested to give due consideration to the occupants of nearby houses when parking and turning. It is likely that considerable disruption will occur at school start and finish times and, where possible, the use of vehicles in the immediate vicinity of the school should be minimised.
Please remember that the safety of children attending the school is of primary concern. The Neighbourhood Policing Team and Roads Policing Officers will be monitoring the area at busy periods
Your co-operation is appreciated.
