...... to Hebden Royd Church of England Primary.
We are a smaller than average primary school currently with 151 pupils including nursery.
We are made up of a foundation stage taking 3 – 5 year olds, two KS1 classes and three KS2 classes.
We have a broad based curriculum which we launched into two years ago and to some extent abandoned the usual literacy, numeracy and subject focus in favour of a themed approach. Whilst ensuring that all skills and knowledge requirements are fulfilled, we encourage our children to help decide which topics they may like to learn about over the year.
We are directly linked to St James’ Church both by the obvious blue walk way and the governance of our school. As a church school we are to be found in church at least every half term with a celebratory service. We support the good work done in church and to that effect they regularly display our children’s work.
We are enormously proud of the friendly and open relationships we foster with families; we support many charities and involve ourselves thoroughly in the life of our local community as well as looking towards the much wider world.
